Throughout UK the variety of energy suppliers such as gas and electricity are quite vast with strong brand names such as British Gas and Scottish Power, being known and trusted all over Britain. Although these are the main leaders in what market share is concerned, there is also others that should be taken in consideration, as these keep lowering their gas and electricity prices every year.
To better compare prices nowadays we have the so called comparison sites, that provides us with our main choice factor, especially at recession times – the price. But should we really focusing solely into prices? I beg to differ on that one.

Coming to London, as I’m originally from Portugal, I was surprised seeing every house with gas stoves, as I thought that was a think from the past. The ugly truth is that the first bill came home after 3 months, totalling a sum of around £25. I even called to British Gas afraid that they’ve made a mistake, charging me after a small fortune from not having reported their mistake.
All this to say that, gas compared to electricity is a lot more energy efficient. We can compare it as when use batteries to power a photographic camera. Even if the camera is not on, you know perfectly well that the machine will continue to consume energy. By using Gas appliances there is no waste of energy, and it can help you to reduce you energy bills saving you money on the long run. Imagine, living in an energy smart house fully powered by gas. It will make your electricity expenses reduce by a half at least.
